Rename ChatGPT Chat On Desktop
Starting a Conversation:
- Access ChatGPT: Visit the official ChatGPT website at chat.openai.com.
- Choose a Chat: Click on the chat that you intend to rename by hovering your mouse over it.
- Select Edit: Click on the three dots (…).
Accessing Rename Feature:
- Find the Pencil Icon: Look for the pencil symbol in the sidebar.
- Activate Rename: Click this icon to bring up a renaming window.
Renaming Your Chat:
- Clear Existing Name: Remove the old name.
- Enter New Name: Type in your new chat name.
- Confirm: Hit “ENTER” on your keyboard or click outside the window to save automatically.
- Abort (If Needed): Press “ESC” to cancel the renaming.
Rename ChatGPT Chat On Mobile
- Open the App: Ensure you’re in the sidebar view.
- Select a Chat: Long-press on the chat you want to rename.
- Choose ‘Rename’: Tap the “Rename” option.
- Type New Name: Enter the chat’s new name.
- Finalize: Tap “OK” to confirm the change.
